Stewart N. Pearson

Stewart is active in all aspects of commercial mortgage financing including both permanent and construction terms. In addition to office, retail, industrial, medical office and multi-unit residential (both CMHC and conventional), Stewart has considerable experience in the financing of retirement residences, long term care facilities and Social Housing projects. Prior to establishing SMCC, Stewart held senior positions at Manulife and Canada Life Mortgage Services. Stewart has been active in the sale and purchase of mortgage portfolios on behalf of institutional clients, as well as providing consulting advice to various levels of government and institutions. Stewart is currently a Board member of SHSC Financial Inc., which oversees the investment of social housing reserve funds and he is a Fellow of the RICS, as well as a Land Economist.  He has participated as a speaker at numerous conferences including those arranged by CMHC.

Stewart holds a Masters degree from Oxford University.

Kevin M. Crandles
Vice-President & Broker

Kevin has extensive experience in arranging construction and term financing for commercial real estate in communities across Ontario. Kevin is especially active in the multi-family, senior’s housing, retail and office markets. Kevin has considerable experience arranging CMHC insured and conventional financing for multi-family housing projects including arranging financing solutions for portfolio transactions. Prior to co-forming Strategic Mortgage Capital Company, Kevin held a senior position at a mortgage brokerage subsidiary of a Canadian Life insurance company.

Education
Kevin holds a Masters of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business (York University) and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Guelph.

Brien W. Dane
Vice-President & Broker

Brien has over 30 years of experience in arranging both construction and term financing for commercial and multi-residential real estate. Brien’s areas of expertise include senior’s (retirement and long term care), multi-residential and student housing (both conventional and CMHC) as well as office, retail, industrial and special purpose projects. Prior to the formation of SMCC, Brien held positions with leading life insurance and trust companies.

Education
Brien holds a Masters degree from the University of Western Ontario and Bachelor of Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo.
